🔍 Ask SEARCH · CLARIFY · EXPLAIN

?
Click ASK in the top bar, or say "ask [question]" with 🎙 on, to open a search panel for the whole map.
🔎
Ask about any term, topic, or connection — "what is the identity gap?", "how does meaning connect to emotion?", or "what's the difference between adaptive and defensive identity?"
It searches every topic's title and full description, surfaces the closest match plus how it connects to other topics, and lists related topics as clickable chips that jump straight to them on the canvas.
·
If the page has access to an AI explanation it will write a fresh plain-language answer; otherwise it shows the matching topic's own description — either way, the related-topics chips still work.
💬
Every node's panel also has an ASK ABOUT THIS section — one-tap chips for "why does this matter," "give me an example," "explain this simply," and how it connects to the next idea. Confusion about anything is one click from an answer.
🌗
Selecting a topic washes the canvas in that system's color and gently leans the camera toward it — the map itself shows you which part of the philosophy you're in.
🔊
The sound button adds a soft ambient tone that shifts per system as you explore, plus light tactile tones on hover and select. Off by default — click once to turn on.

✋ Hand ONE OR TWO HANDS · ANY WEBCAM

☝️
Point — extend your index finger and aim any direction. The map pans continuously that way. Even if your other fingers aren't perfectly curled, the system will recognize the dominant index and still pan. Both hands together combine directions.
✌️
Two fingers — index + middle extended. Move your hand up to zoom in, down to zoom out.
🖐️
Open palm — all fingers up. Neutral/stop. The map pauses completely.
Make a fist and hold — close your hand into a fist and hold it steady. A yellow ring fills around the cursor — when the ring completes (~0.6 seconds) the node under it gets selected. You don't need to be fast.
👍
Thumbs up and hold — curl your fingers with thumb out, hold steady (~0.9 seconds). Goes back / closes the panel when the ring completes.
📺
The status bar at the bottom always shows what gesture is being read in large text. If it says something wrong, adjust your hand and wait — it self-corrects.
·
The camera preview shows your hand skeleton with the detected gesture label. Left hand = blue, Right hand = red.

👁 Eye EXPERIMENTAL · HANDS-FREE

Look around — a cursor follows your gaze.
Hold your gaze on a topic for about a second to select it — a ring fills in as it registers.
Look toward any screen edge or corner to pan the canvas that direction — the closer to the edge, the faster.
🙂
Raise your eyebrows and hold to zoom out; open your mouth and hold to zoom in.
😉
Blink both eyes deliberately to go back.

🎙 Voice SPOKEN COMMANDS · MIC · INSTANT

Navigate — "pan / scroll / move / go left / right / up / down" (also "north/south/east/west", repeatable, combine with "and").
🔍
Zoom — "zoom in / out", "closer", "bigger", "smaller". Zooms wherever your hand or eye cursor is pointing — or screen center if no cursor is active.
Overview — "fit", "reset", "overview", "whole map".
🎯
Select a topic — "select [name]", "open [name]", "tell me about [name]", "where is [name]" — or just say the name.
👉
Select by pointing — "select this / that / here" acts on whatever your hand or eye cursor is currently over.
Cycle topics — "next topic" / "previous topic" steps through every node on the map in order.
Back / next — "back", "close", "previous" / "next", "continue" — steps the guided tour or closes the panel.
🎬
Tour — "start the tour" / "end the tour".
Switch tracking — "hand mode" / "eye mode" turns on ✋ or 👁; "turn off tracking" / "turn off camera" stops it.
Freeze hands — "pause tracking" / "freeze hands" stops hand actions without losing the camera lock; "resume tracking" turns them back on.
🏃
Pan speed — "faster" / "slower" / "normal speed" adjusts how fast pointing pans the map.
📷
Camera view — "hide the camera" / "show the camera" minimizes or restores the preview.
Guide — "help" or "guide" opens this panel; "close" dismisses it.
🔇
Turn voice off — "stop listening" or "mute".
·
Every command fires the instant it's recognized — no need to finish a sentence or pause. "Zoom in and pan left" executes both parts as each is heard.
·
Built to work together — point or look to position the cursor with ✋ or 👁, then say "select this" to act on it. Say "zoom in" while pointing somewhere to zoom into that spot. Voice can switch, pause, and resume hand tracking — every input feeds the same map.
FOR THE SMOOTHEST RUN
· Face a light source — avoid sitting with a bright window behind you.
· Keep your hand or face roughly arm's length from the camera, centered in the preview.
· Wait for "TRACKING LIVE" before gesturing — the system locks on for about half a second first.
· Hold each shape steady for a beat before switching — the tracker confirms a shape for two frames before acting, so brief blurs between gestures are ignored.
· To select something, point at it to pan it into view, then pause and close your hand into a fist over it — or just say "select this."
· In eye mode, small head movements help more than eye-only movements — turn slightly toward where you want to look.
· Voice responds the instant it hears a command word — speak naturally, no need to pause at the end of a sentence.
· Camera and microphone access require an https link or localhost — they will not work from a downloaded file or this chat's preview.
